Formally called the Paramedic in Industry course

Candidates in possession of a current Emergency Medical Assistant (EMA) license, may apply for an OFA certificate at the appropriate level from an Authorized Training Agency.

FIRST RESPONDERS

A licensed First Responder with full schedule 1 qualifications issued by EMA licensing, can qualify for an unrestricted OFA L1 ticket. The OFA L1 will expire on the same day that the FR License expires.

A licensed First Responder with full schedule 2 qualifications issued by EMA licensing, can qualify for an unrestricted OFA L2 ticket. The OFA L2 will expire on the same day that the FR License expires.

  1. Download, print and complete the Out of Jurisdiction Jurisprudence Package
  2. Download the digital version of the OFA L2 book
  3. Present their photo ID.
  4. To obtain certification, we will need your full name as shown on the license and license number. We need to get confirmation from BC EMALB that your certificate is not in shortfall, please email to bep@be-prepared.ca. Please do so at least 2 business days prior to your scheduled appointment.
  5. Download, print, fill out and sign an OFA statement of fitness July 2018.
  6. Fill out and sign our registration form BeP-F-TR-02 Registration

EMR, PCP, ACP, ITT, CPP

A licensed EMR through to CCP can apply for an unrestricted OFA L3 ticket (formally PII). The OFA L3 ticket is valid for 3 years from the date of issue (EMA License will need to be maintained).

How to obtain the OFA L3 ticket for the EMR, PCP, ACP, ITT or CCP licensee?

  1. Download, print and complete the Out of Jurisdiction Jurisprudence Package
  2. Download the digital version of the OFA L3 book
  3. Present their photo ID.

Interested parties can come in, fill out the remaining paperwork, obtain their certificate. All paperwork that is handed in, will be checked and should be found in order.  Any corrections needed or changes needed, can be made while at our location.***

 

Out of Province Paramedic License Holders

If you hold a valid paramedic license outside of British Columbia you must first contact the EMALB (Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board) and get your BC EMA license.  There is a jurisprudence exam to be done.

Once completed and you have an BC EMA license you then can follow the directions above.
